Like the valley we reside in, you will find the Lodge has a unique history, marked by the recurring theme that each
subsequent owner had one desire: to live in Red River. For those of us not so fortunate to dwell in the lovely valley, the Elk Ridge provides a home away from home.
The current operators, Jerry and
Marla Vowell, go out of their way to not only provide quality service, but create an atmosphere of warmth, hearth and heart. And like the Lodge, they too have their own story. When visiting the lodge be sure to ask them about how they moved to Red River from Texas.

Location
You would be hard pressed to find a more beautiful setting than Red River, New Mexico to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. For the history buffs, Red River is rich in frontier lore and excitement. For the outdoorsman, fishing, hunting, hiking, rafting, skiing (and we could go on and on here), are available at every turn. If these options seem too rustic, don't forget Red River's legendary shopping. At the Elk Ridge, you have the option of cooking and eating in or you can enjoy a wide variety of eating experiences.

Getting Here
The Elk Ridge is on the East end of Main St. at the "Y". Also known as Hwy 578 or the upper valley road. We are located on the left side of the road going toward the upper valley, just past the cut off to Bob Cat Pass. .
